Who Doesn’t Want to Save on Travel?

Travel does not fit in a nice little perfect box. It manifests itself in different ways depending on who you ask. Weekend trip to a hotel in the city? Sure. Memorial Day stay at a lake house rental? Of course. Bus trip through a separate part of the country? Absolutely. Multi-leg international trip? Most definitely. Regardless of how it looks, who doesn’t want to save money and resources?

I’d say the answer to the previous question is a resounding no one. Well, apart from those who claim money not being an issue.

This is not my family.

My Introduction to Travel Rewards

When I was bit by the travel bug a couple years ago, my journey into travel rewards was in its infancy. We boasted a Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase Freedom Flex card and had just opened the door into American Express Membership Rewards with the Amex Gold card. I still wasn’t sure what that could mean for our family.

As I look back in retrospect, even with the immense amount of research I do, I simply followed what the large majority of blogs and websites were telling me. Start with the Sapphire Preferred. Invest in the Chase Ultimate Rewards ecosystem. Get the Amex card everyone has in their wallet. I don’t regret these moves, but I also acknowledge the muddy waters that newbies encounter. It shouldn’t have to be muddy.

Travel Rewards Can Be for Everyone

Therefore, my goal as I build out content and resources is to never stray from the fact that everyone’s situation is different. Everyone’s needs and goals vary. Again, travel does not fit in a perfect box.

Regardless of whether you are completely new and helpless in the world of travel rewards or an established veteran, I’d love to come alongside you on your path and fulfill what is at least my goal – to save on travel and open up opportunities to travel beyond expectation. Thanks for reading.
